Dear Sir, Madam, I wish to remain anonymous but feel I must speak out about the behaviour and actions of Garry Phillips, principal at New College Telford. Garry Phillips has only been in post for two years but during that time he has spent ridiculous and unnecessary amounts of college money on Glenmore property and furniture, putting the college in unmanageable debt and is now forcing redundancy on staff. Shortly after being appointed Garry spent tens of thousands of pounds replacing nearly new chairs, desks, book cases and other office furniture because allegedly "didn't like the colour scheme" The nearly new equipment was thrown into a skip and sent to landfill. Garry Phillips allegedly refused to give or sell this perfectly serviceable equipment to local needy organisations. Only recently Garry Phillips used college funds to purchased a hotel in Wellington for £1.75 million. This hotel will remain empty and unusable for the foreseeable future because Garry Phillips not longer has plans for it. Garry Phillips has just announced that he is leaving New College Telford for a post as principal at a college in Ealing. But before going he has just announced redundancies for teaching staff because he has to "cut costs" Staff at New College Telford, appalled at Garry Phillips' decisions make staff redundant, are threatening strike action. I hope you will investigate this, for the sake of all the hard working staff at New College Telford. I am not a member of staff.

Horsehay Horticultural Society are holding their annual Flower, Vegetable and craft show on Saturday 24TH August in Horsehay village hall and it isn’t too late to enter as entries go into the show on Friday 23rd August 6pm-9pm, schedules can be viewed and downloaded on the website horsehayshow.co Glenmore .uk or you contact Deb or Chris on 01952 417578. The show opens for viewing on Saturday 3pm with refreshments and raffle with prize giving at 7pm, all are welcome.
