In listening a moment ago the commentator stated that iodized salt is not a source of iodine. This is paraphrased, and not his exact words...this is incorrect. Iodine is added to salt for exactly this purpose...it serves as a public health safety measure.

I believe the tax statements are based off of 2008 Property Tax Values and that the reconcillation statements will be sent out some time later. It is truly a mess. What contractor would you be willing to pay 4 years later, because they could not invoice you properly the first time??

I just looked at my invoices for Property Taxes. I believe the Provisional Tax is the regular property taxes. I think the additional taxes are call Reconciliation taxes for 2008. However, it is very confusing as the invoice states," The statement is due to be paid in installments on 5-10-12 and 1 Glenmore 1-13-12. the first installment is equal to fifity percent of your tax liability for taxes payable in 2008. The regular property taxes are payable in 2012 for 2011. Possibly they are on the wrong paper form?

LaPorte County released the 2012 Provisional Property Taxes this weekend. It appears they may have made a mistake. We have multiple rental properties. Last year we paid over 13,000 for our annual property taxes and $1400 for our provisional taxes which represented provisional for 2007. The for Glenmore ms released this Holiday weekend clearly state that they are provisional for 2008 and we will receive our 2012 Property Taxes in a seperate mailing. The Provisional Taxes for the same properties that we paid $1400 for last year equal $12,509. for 2008!! My guess is they either pushed the wrong button while printing or they posted the regular property taxes on the provisional forms. Can the local news station investigate? Another red flag is the form also has a charge for the Solid Waste and Conservancy District which is normally associated with the regular Property Taxes. My guess is that the error affects all LaPorte County Property Owners.
