Hey guys,
Can't get hold of Supriya, she was doing a piece on hugs and I am sending this poem I wrote a few years ago on "HUGS"
Thanks
Norm
Hug
Today the authorities are discovering
That hugs are in
And everyone in the West is clamouring
For its not a sin
Some still hesitate and hold back
And shyly accept a hug
Clapping the back to accept the slack
Even with a face like a mug
Hugs are a way of life
In many eastern cultures
Not only for your wife
Dogs, snakes or vultures
Many are uncomfortable still
To hug a fellow man
For others may think you're ill
You're a queer or anti-man
Children are hugged from birth
But in some civilized society
We shrank to show joy and mirth
We think its not cool in company
But deep down we do need hugs
To rejuvenate the human body
Not scowls and heedless shrugs
We sometimes show so publicly
So look over to your fellow persons
Go over no matter if he's a big lug
Capture your love before it worsens
Yes folks show your love with a hug
